About the Trim & Ringtone

SoundBench Trim Audio is a free online audio cutter. Select a section on the waveform, type exact start and end times if you need them, and add smooth fade-ins and fade-outs.

Keep only the selection, or switch to Cut selection out to remove a part from the middle. Export to MP3, WAV, FLAC, AAC, OGG, Opus or an M4R ringtone.

How to use the Trim & Ringtone

  1. Add an audio file. The waveform appears with the whole track selected.
  2. Drag on the waveform to select the part you want, or type start and end times.
  3. Set fade in and fade out lengths, and press Play selection to check.
  4. Choose a format and click Export.

Frequently asked questions

Can I remove a part from the middle of a song?

Yes. Select the part and switch to Cut selection out. SoundBench joins the remaining audio with a short crossfade so there is no click.

Does trimming reduce quality?

Exporting to WAV or FLAC keeps full quality. MP3 and AAC exports are re-encoded, so pick a high bitrate such as 320 kbps.

How precise is the selection?

Times are shown to the hundredth of a second, and you can type exact values in the Start and End fields.
