About the Tag & Cover Editor
Music players sort and display songs using tags stored inside each file. Missing or wrong tags lead to Unknown Artist entries, albums split in two and songs without artwork.
SoundBench reads and writes ID3v2.3 tags in MP3 files, Vorbis comments in FLAC and iTunes-style tags in M4A, including embedded JPG or PNG cover art. The audio stream is copied without re-encoding, so quality is untouched.
How to use the Tag & Cover Editor
- Add an MP3, FLAC, M4A or OGG file. Existing tags are filled in.
- Edit the fields, and drop a JPG or PNG onto the cover to replace the artwork.
- Click Save tagged file to download the updated file.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add album art to an MP3?
Open the MP3, drop a square JPG or PNG image onto the cover box, and save. 600×600 to 1400×1400 pixels works well in most players.
Does editing tags change audio quality?
No. Only the tag data changes. The audio frames are copied exactly.
Can I edit tags in WAV files?
WAV tag support is poor and most players ignore it. Convert the file to FLAC with the Audio Converter, then tag it.
