Ringtone Maker

Pick the best part of any song, add a fade-out and export it as an M4R ringtone for iPhone or an MP3 for Android.

About the Ringtone Maker

iPhone ringtones use the M4R format (AAC audio in an M4A container) and can be at most 40 seconds long. Android phones accept ordinary MP3 files of any length.

Choose a 20, 30 or 40 second length, drag the selection to the chorus, and SoundBench adds a 1.5-second fade-out automatically.

How to use the Ringtone Maker

  1. Add a song. M4R is already selected as the export format.
  2. Click 30 s or 40 s, then drag the highlighted selection to the part you want.
  3. Press Play selection to check it, and adjust the fades.
  4. Click Export. Use MP3 instead of M4R for Android.

How to add the ringtone to your iPhone

  • On a Mac: connect the iPhone, open it in Finder and drag the .m4r file onto the phone.
  • On Windows: open the iPhone in iTunes or the Apple Devices app and drag the .m4r file into Tones.
  • Then go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics > Ringtone and select it.

How to set the ringtone on Android

  • Copy the MP3 to the phone's Ringtones folder, or open it in Files and choose Set as ringtone.
  • Then go to Settings > Sound > Phone ringtone and select it.

Frequently asked questions
